Optional wing covering method

If you live in a humid environment or simply want stronger structural wings,  alternative method to cover your glider wings can be  light weight lamination e.g Solite film. This will increase the weight of the glider by +- 3 grams but will provide additional protection and strength.  You can purchase Solite Film here.

To cover the wings of your glider, a heat iron can be used. Mini heat irons work best with variable heat adjustment. Few brand names to choose from that may be purchased from ebay or amazon are: Clover Mini iron ii, Mini plancha para patch, Mini-Bügeleisen MB-3415, Ming Yang sealing tool Large heat iron/sealing iron will work as well, make sure to use low heat. Both irons must have cloth sock on head to prevent iron from sticking to lamination film. Regular cotton sock can be used.

this feather glider is a gem

This feather dlg is by far the best glider plane yet considering it has no ailerons. Most glider planes have both ailerons and rudder , but this ultralight dlg needs no ailerons, she says afloat days on end. this feather is incredibly light weight and super easy to control, even easier to build, what a gem.

Many thanks

i am very happy with my purchase, Mr. Lee has been of great help getting my feather in the sky, a hiccup on my end from gluing the guide rods to the push rods, but finally she flies and very gracefully. many thanks from Main

i am almost 80 years of age with a life time of radio control experience. I am very pleased with your beautiful design of the feather glider. Although i can not launch this glider very high due to my lower back lumbar pain, but i am having extensive and long flights over at the embankment right next to our home here in Tennessee.

a gem of a glider, i no longer have the fear to fly at the park due to the nature of its light weight design, very easy to assemble. balsa tail fins are super light weight, Flight is very graceful, just remember that tiny movements to turn is enough. no need for extra batteries just charge battery right within the fuselage. well done micro birds *****

I am thoroughly enjoying my feather dlg, i have crashed this little bird many times with hardly a scratch. A very well thought out little glider, a true floater, thank you for offering such a wonderful kit. cheers from NYNY

absolutely a joy

without a doubt, i have had an exceptional experience with microbirds, one respectful/helpful designer, incredible simple design with the feather dlg and what a joy to fly, with my old age and poor eye sight reading conventional rc build guides has been arduous, microbirds offers a step by step easy to follow video guide to build my feather glider, i must admit it took me a month to finish due to my shaky hands but i am now enjoying a feather weight of a glider, to every glider pilot looking for a very light weight smaller size glider, this is it. thumbs up from Colorado RR

After four months, the shipment finally arrived after a long journey. The box was quite destroyed, but due to the precise packaging of the goods inside, everything arrived in order. Thank you. Martin

Floaty Feather^2

I have truly enjoyed flying this floaty Feather^2 glider that thinks and acts like it is a real sailplane. Well done, MicroBirds!

Superb kit!

Ordered the kit for UK delivery. Upon delivery I was very impressed with kit quality, how it is boxed and presented- very well thought out and complete. You really do only need tools, epoxy, CA, hinge tape and sandpaper. The feather was great fun to construct and goes together very quickly- accuracy of laser cut parts is, again, very good.
Test flights demonstrated the Feather is very stable, easy to fly and really is a little floater.
I will be covering my feather in Oralight as the tissue sagged after about 10 minutes- here in the North of England it’s quite wet so Oralight will permit flying in wet/ damp conditions.
Overall very pleased with purchase which I believe represents good value for the money. Hats off to the designer!
